It’s Only Rock & Roll but They Like It!

Sunday 11 August 2019

One of Birmingham’s breweries is celebrating its appearance on a list of the top 10 eco-friendly pubs. Rock & Roll Brewhouse in the Jewellery Quarter is among pubs highlighted nationally by CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale.

Rock & Roll brewery provides vegan-friendly beers which are served at source at its Brewhouse. Mark Shepherd from Rock & Roll stressed how important the environment is for them. “We pride ourselves not just on the quality of our beers but also in the fact that we play our part in looking after the environment. We never have and never will use plastic containers for our beer. More and more people are conscious of the importance of caring for nature, and they appreciate what we do-as well as enjoy our beers!

Head brewer is actually a brewster, being a female brewer, Lynn XXXX, who is always looking to nature to provide the opportunity to produce special beers as well as those in the brewery’s core range. “Whenever possible I like to include ingredients taken from the natural environment: for instance, we recently brewed a beer including locally grown brambles.”

Rock and Roll Brewhouse is a working brewery but its bar at Unit 2, 60 Regent Place, B1 3NJ, is open to the public Fridays 17:00 - 21:00 and Saturdays 13:00 - 19:00.
