Triple Crown for the Best Pub ‘Inn’ Brum
A Birmingham hostelry is celebrating winning a coveted gong for the third year running. The Inn on the Green, in Acock’s Green, has just been named Birmingham Pub of the Year, with the award given by the local branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale.
Press Officer of Birmingham CAMRA, Martin Collinge, said that the repeated success is all down to the pub’s quality and variety. “Licensee Brendon Daly gives his customers a great range of real ales every day, plus four beer festivals a year. Added to this there is the famed craft beer bar, plus the ‘Bottle Shed’ which offers a variety of unusual beers, and of course regular live music.”
Second place was won by The Lamp Tavern on the Highgate/Digbeth border, with popular ‘mine host’ Eddie Fitzgerald at the helm of a pub which has an interesting range of beers, plus regular folk music nights. The ‘bronze award’ went to The Gunmaker’s Arms in the Jewellery Quarter, the ‘tap house’ of Two Towers Brewery which, in addition to ten ales, offers a variety of entertainment and events
