Hidden away below the Burlington Hotel (formerly the Midland), there are usually six real ales available. There are many distinct areas of discrete seating, many with a unique historical theme. A separate dining area is available but meals can be eaten anywhere in the pub. The pub is one of the Nicholsons chain, part of M&B, and is handily situated opposite Grand Central tram stop and New Street station.
